Slimming World vs. Weight Watchers

Having lost 4 stone with Weight Watchers not long ago I would recommend it to anyone and everyone and thought that it was the only way that I could successfully lose weight and keep it off. However, a year later Im two stone back up from my target weight and feeling uncomfortable. A few girls at work were doing Swimming World and swore by it, but I wasn’t convinced. Because Weight Watchers was the only thing that had worked for me I felt like everything else was just fad dieting. I was struggling to keep within my points and found it painstaking to work out the points for every little thing I ate. I was assured I wouldn’t be doing this if I tried Slimming World.

 

So today I took the plunge and went along to my first meeting, which is daunting when you go alone in an area you havent lived in for long. I also felt like I was cheating on WW a little bit. Luckily everyone was really friendly and welcoming. I was a bit confused about how the plan worked to begin with since I found it difficult to stop thinking in points, but you don’t need to count or weigh out anything! I just couldn’t and still cant get my head around the principle of filling up on free foods, considering free foods consists of things like pasta and potatoes. It almost seems too good to be true. But I have friends who have had success with it and I felt exactly the same when I started WW so I am going to give it my best effort this week and find out what happens at my first weigh-in next week. Im not expecting a massive weight loss and I am not looking to lose much in the long term, just what I have put on from my target weight.

 

I’m interested to know what others have thought of the plan, and also from anyone else who is like me and has tried both plans to see which one they prefer! Please leave comments below! 🙂
